Apple fires manager responsible for crappy new maps software

11/28/2012

If it's any consolation, the guy responsible for that horrible new maps app on your iPhone has been fired. Richard Williamson, the leader of the team who oversaw the development and implementation of the new mapping software, was reportedly told his services were no longer needed with Apple Inc. This is just the latest development in the mapping fiasco that has seen CEO Tim Cook issue a written apology to Apple customers and the dismissal of iOS software executive Scott Forstall. While the new map program hasn't hurt sales of the new iPhone 5, Apple is seeking to make up for lost customer confidence. We just hope Williamson doesn't use the new maps when trying to find the office exit. [Source]
