School stands by offer after concussions end player's career
9/21/2012Four concussions weren't enough for Richy Klepal to say "enough" to football, nor to discourage Florida State from offering him a scholarship. But when the offensive lineman from Tampa's Plant High School suffered a fifth, an MRI revealed a brain hemorrhage and delivered what he called "a wake-up call" to quit the sport before it turned out his lights. That's the good news: he's sparing himself more damage. Also this: the Seminoles are still going to honor the offer, even though Klepal will never play for them. "I love football more than anything," he said, "but not more than living." [Source]
