Laid-off man who won $1M lottery planning to buy his family a home

1/16/2013

Driving home to the one-room cabin in Merlin, Ore., that he'd been sharing with his wife and three kids since he was laid off in May, Riley Gunn bought some lottery tickets. The unemployed 32-year-old had a hunch he'd win, and win he did — to the tune of $1 million. Now the former telecommunications worker is planning to start his own business and his family, who have donated 10 percent of their winnings to their church, is planning to buy a home in Redding, Calif., where they used to live. His wife Misti said "it's going to change my life. Living off nothing is just very hard." [Source]
