Unobservant road crew paints over dead raccoon

8/10/2012

This raccoon appears to have had a quite unfortunate experience with the Pennsylvania highway system. First, the little guy was flattened by a motorist, presumably while trying to cross the street. Then, to add insult to injury, a road crew came by and painted right over the poor deceased creature. A traffic engineer said a foreman usually travels in front of the crew to remove any obstructions, but the crew had no foreman and was apparently unable to stop the paint gun. The poor raccoon was cleared off the road next morning, but not before his posthumous mug became the laughing stock of the Internet. [Source]
