Robin Sullins, 48, of Austin, Texas, lost all of her fingers and both legs after sustaining a minor cut when she was bitten while breaking up a fight between two family dogs. Within days, the bacterium capnocytophaga canimorsus, found in the mouths of one in three dogs, had infected her blood so badly, doctors were forced to amputate.
