Robot falcons used as pigeon deterrents are as rad as they sound

3/21/2013

Robot falcons. Bam. That was the sound of your head exploding because of how cool that is. Sadly, they're not exactly the screeching machines of death from above we've been envisioning (and secretly raising funds for) for years, but they are pretty cool. Edinburgh's Waverley Station is plagued by hordes of pigeons and pigeon poop, so officials splurged, to the tune of almost $14K, on a fleet of Robops. These robotic falcons emit four different calls, turn their heads and flap their wings, striking terror in the hearts of the feathered rats that would defile the station. Robot falcons: the hero we both want and deserve. [Source]
