Super-advanced childlike 'Roboy' developed by Swiss scientists
12/27/2012Get ready to welcome your advanced humanoid robot overlord. Or at least to wave at Roboy, an insanely-high-tech service robot that is so close to being human, he'll be born after nine months of "gestation" in the University of Zurich's Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. Roboy is being constructed with artificial tendons — giving him smoother, less halting movements —and will be covered in a soft skin. Fortunately, his face will be more cartoon-like than human, which makes him less creepy than he sounds. When he's completed, Roboy will "execute services independently for the convenience of human beings." He also already has his own Facebook page, so we're thinking his first task should be to un-tag us in all those unflattering Christmas pictures. [Source]
