Roman centurions clash with cops at Colosseum
4/13/2012Roman centurions dressed in armor and ancient headgear battled with police at the ruins of the Colosseum Thursday in a bizarre clash of two eras. The cops were trying to evict two of the plastic-sword-wielding men, who hang out by the ancient amphitheater to make money from tourists. Reuters reports that around 25 centurions jumped in to help their buddies out, and one was injured in the fray. Onlookers rooted for the men in skirts, shouting, "Leave them alone, we are all centurions!" One tunic-clad "officer" said, "I have been making my living like this, I have supported my wife, my children...and now they tell me: 'You are out.' This is not possible." Looks like it might be, dude.
Who are you rooting for: the cops or the centurions?
