Romney tells 'humorous' story about his dad closing a factory
3/29/2012These days, whenever Mitt Romney opens his mouth, his supporters cringe and the sharks (the media, Democrats and Rick Santorum) begin to circle. Yesterday, Romney stepped in it again, telling Wisconsin voters on a conference call a "humorous" anecdote about how his father, George, closed an auto factory in Michigan and then moved the work to Wisconsin, joking that his father tried to hide the story when he ran for governor of Michigan. You know, to relate to voters. Tweeted Romney adviser Eric Fehrnstrom: "You know what's 'humorous'? Caterwauling from the Dems about Mitt's recall of a campaign story involving his dad." He added the hashtag #fakeoutrage.
