Idaho lawmaker explains why abortion is a lot like being a hooker

What's the difference between abortion and prostitution? According to Idaho Rep. Ron Mendive, not much, because the two are both choices women make. During a breakfast presentation by American Civil Liberties Union's Idaho office, the Republican state rep asked the group's executive director, Monica Hopkins, if the organization's support of abortion meant it also supported prostitution, as both were, as Mendive said, "a woman's choice." The question reportedly caused audible gasps and (presumably) the feverish clutching of pearls among people in attendance. Hopkins quickly pointed out the two are not the same, as prostitution is illegal and reproductive health care is constitutionally mandated. She also noted that someone might "choose" to rob a bank, but it's still illegal. [Source]
