Man memorizes names of 2,200 slain soldiers for his own war memorial
3/3/2013One Texas man is putting his ridiculously good memory to good use. Ron White, 39, is a Navy veteran who remembers checking out the seemingly endless list of names engraved on the Vietnam Wall in D.C. and wondering "What’s the Afghanistan memorial going to look like?" So White, a two-time USA Memory Champion, decided to memorize the names of all 2,200 fallen soldiers in the Afghan War and write them, from memory, on a blank wall. It took him hours to finish the inspirational feat, which he pulled off on Thursday in Fort Worth. It was worth it, of course — as White says, "It was such an emotional day, and it was my way of paying respect to these men and their families." [Source]
