11/18/2012On Saturday, Rupert Murdoch was the latest celeb to stir up Twitter trouble with comments about why what he called the "Jewish-owned press" is opposed to Israel's current military action. Murdoch is a supporter of Israeli intervention in Gaza, but his tweet was considered, bizarrely, both pro-Zionist and anti-Semitic, and it drew condemnation from CNN's Howard Kurtz and ridicule from Huffington Post U.K.'s Political Director Medhi Hassan. Today, though, Murdoch (kind of?) apologized in a confusing tweet that read, "Jewish owned press’ have been sternly criticized, suggesting link to Jewish reporters. Don't see this, but apologize unreservedly." Tweeps seemed unsure what to make of the odd apology. Um ... Thanks? [Source]
