Man falls off train in Siberia, sprints 4 miles in flip-flops
1/18/2013Need another reason not to smoke? A 42-year-old Russian train passenger who had just taken a cigarette break in a vestibule opened the wrong door when heading back to his seat. Instead of entering his car, he plunged out of the train and into a pitch-black Siberian forest. Even worse, he was wearing only a T-shirt, sweats and flip-flops — not ideal when temperatures are hovering around the minus-40-degrees mark. The man raced after the train in vain, then ran along the tracks for more than four miles until he reached the next station, terrified but generally unhurt. "He survived by sheer luck," said officials, who are investigating why the door was unlocked. [Source]
