Dash cam captures moment of impact in fatal Russian plane crash
12/30/2012Saturday's tragic plane crash at Vnukovo International Airport in Moscow terrified nearby drivers, as debris from the crash rained down on the adjacent roadway. This dashboard camera captured the moment of impact, when an inbound Red Wings Airlines flight overshot the runway and broke apart, scattering huge chunks of debris across the highway. Five crew members died in the crash, and three others are still being treated for life-threatening injuries in area hospitals. There were no passengers on the Tupolev Tu-204 aircraft, which can carry up to 210 people, and no serious injuries were reported on the highway.
