Killjoy scientist uses DNA testing to crush dreams of Russian Bigfoot
2/4/2013It seems a big, hairy animal that's been lurking in caves in southern Russia is just a big ol' American black bear, and not a Yeti after all. That's the conclusion drawn by Oxford University's Professor Bryan Sykes. He performed DNA tests on three strands of hair found in the Mount Shoria region in the country's south where an enormous, hairy beast has been frightening the living borscht out of locals for three years. However, the idea that a North American black bear has been stalking the area is almost as intriguing. No one knows how it got there, the best guess being that it ran away from a circus. [Source]
