Boy Scout chapter approves gay teen's Eagle Scout award

1/9/2013

The Boy Scouts of America have made it known that they do not like gay folks and they're not shy about purging their ranks of gay members. Take Ryan Andresen, a California teen whose Scoutmaster refused to approve his Eagle Scout award before Andresen was kicked out for being openly gay. Fortunately, one Scout chapter in the San Francisco Bay Area refused to go along with the national organization’s blatant discrimination, approving Andresen’s Eagle Scout application and sending it to national headquarters for approval. Said the head of the review board that approved the application, “I don't think sexual orientation should enter into why a Scout is a Scout, or whether they are Eagle material.” [Source]
