Plane 'screwed everything' by making a U-turn after landing

2/26/2013

Insert a joke about Irish pilots here. A Ryanair plane caused a ruckus at Dublin Airport when it landed and then made a U-Turn right into oncoming traffic. And by "traffic," we mean other planes trying to land. Seeing the Ryanair plane make a 180-degree turn, air traffic controllers scrambled to tell other planes approaching the runway to "perform a missed approach." Reportedly when asked by another Ryanair flight what was wrong with the runway, the control tower replied that "one of your company aircraft ... made a 180-degree turn which, eh, screwed everything." The incident is under investigation. [Source]
