Sacha Baron Cohen busts out his best fake accent for Golden Globes
1/14/2013Much like Amy Poehler and Tina Fey in their opening monologue, Sacha Baron Cohen came onstage at the Golden Globes and roasted Hollywood’s elite, slamming Russell Crowe and Daniel Day-Lewis in a feigned hyper-English accent. (Yeah, we know he’s actually English, but he’s not from the 1940s.) What a piquante Golden Globes co-host! Oh wait, he’s not a host, he’s presenting the … best animated picture? And he couldn’t say anything about the nominees or animation in general? Why, it’s almost like he might be doing a surprise audition for Golden Globe hosting duties in 2014. Sorry, “Brave” and the other nominees we barely got to see clips of! Next time ask for someone who’s not a total ham to present your award.
