Sacha Baron Cohen busts out his best fake accent for Golden Globes

1/14/2013

Much like Amy Poehler and Tina Fey in their opening monologue, Sacha Baron Cohen came onstage at the Golden Globes and roasted Hollywood’s elite, slamming Russell Crowe and Daniel Day-Lewis in a feigned hyper-English accent. (Yeah, we know he’s actually English, but he’s not from the 1940s.) What a piquante Golden Globes co-host! Oh wait, he’s not a host, he’s presenting the … best animated picture? And he couldn’t say anything about the nominees or animation in general? Why, it’s almost like he might be doing a surprise audition for Golden Globe hosting duties in 2014. Sorry, “Brave” and the other nominees we barely got to see clips of! Next time ask for someone who’s not a total ham to present your award.
