St. Paul Saints will become the 'Aints' on Atheist Night

7/13/2012

The St. Paul Saints will be losing their Esses (as opposed to their asses, which the last place team does regularly) when they're sponsored by the Minnesota Atheists on Aug.10. For that night only, the independent AA team will become the "Aints," and the 'S' will be X-ed out on all the stadium flags and banners. Before their secular turn, General Manager Derek Sharrar quickly pointed out that the team's name doesn't have a religious connotation (and their mascots are a pair of nondenominational live pigs). "It will all be in good fun," Sharrar said. "This is about presenting the beliefs of this group of folks in a way that can be fun and entertaining." Bless their hearts. [Source]
