Salvation Army worker doesn't want gay change, but it isn't clear why
12/17/2012Those Salvation Army bell-ringers are supposed to be raising money for the poor, but one of their workers in Victoria, British Columbia, is using his bell to protest gay marriage. The worker was pulled from his post after wearing a sign that read, "If you support gay rights: please do not donate." What is unclear is whether the man was opposing gay rights or actually protesting the Salvation Army's stance on gay marriage. The charity's website says their traditionally negative stance on homosexuality is "under review," but a spokeswoman said they did not support the sign and would be meeting with the man who had worn it to discuss whether his work with the charity could continue.
