We had just accepted the New York Times' mea culpa on Gore Vidal's obituary as the Best Newspaper Correction of 2012. But that was before we heard about drag queen Peaches Christ and her alleged performance at a San Francisco church with a crucifix-shaped dildo. Except it didn’t happen. Peaches' people say that not only did the performer not use the blasphemous prop at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church — she wasn't at the event at all. Christ personally told columnist C.W. Nevius that she "would never perform with something as tired as a crucifix dildo," leading to what can only be described as the best "please, let's read it again and again" correction of the year.
