Sandy Hook students head back to class after Newtown shootings

1/3/2013

Nearly three weeks after the devastating shootings in Newtown, students of Sandy Hook Elementary School resumed classes on Thursday. More than 400 students traveled to a refurbished school in neighboring Monroe, with Sandy Hook remaining closed as police continue to investigate the killings on Dec 14, when Adam Lanza allegedly shot 20 first-graders and six educators. Although law enforcement officers are guarding the new school, Newtown superintendent Janet Robinson said officials will attempt to ensure the students feel relaxed and safe. "We will go to our regular schedule," she said. "We will be doing a normal day." [Source]
