Hula-hooping Santas converge on Denmark for Zumba classes

7/23/2012

Not just anyone can gracefully descend a chimney with a pouch full of presents. Just ask the bearded competitors who've taken over Denmark's capital this week for the 55th World Santa Congress, an annual "professional forum and social meeting place" for St. Nicks, elves and pixies from around the world. Held at Bakken, said to be the world's oldest amusement park, every July (the Kris Kringles are terribly busy in December), the quirky four-day conference features chimney obstacle courses, ice-mountain-climbing contests and Zumba exercise classes complete with hula hoops. "It was a sweaty experience … but now I'm hooked," said one particularly jolly attendee. "I think I will be doing some more Zumba in my spare time." [Source]
