How much content on Twitter is a waste of time? This chart tells us

11/13/2012

It's often difficult to get an idea of how much of the information on Twitter is helpful and how much of it is just background noise. Fortunately, comic creator Sarah Lazarovic came up with a helpful graph outlining the different kinds of content one can find on the social media site. Using a clever play on Twitter's bird logo, Sarah shows what've always suspected: "Good information" accounts for only a small portion of Twitter's content, while "aggressive self-promoters" get the lion's share. Lazarovic says, "Perhaps I’m having a misanthropic week, but lately it feels like Twitter is just full of unfunny people trying too hard to be hilarious." We think you're right on the mark, Sarah.
