Wait, how much did Sarah Palin get paid per word by Fox News?
1/28/2013Fox News and Sarah Palin's shotgun wedding has ended in a quiet divorce, and now politics nerds are working out just how well Mama Grizzly made out on the deal. Palin served out a three-year contract as a Fox News analyst, reportedly for a cool $1 million a year. She appeared more than 150 times on various Fox broadcasts over that period, aw-shucking her way through 189,211 words, according to the University of Minnesota's Humphrey School of Public Affairs. That comes out to $15.85 per "Reagan," "Alaska" or any other word she cared to utter — more than twice the federal minimum wage for working a whole hour. Two words for that: sweet gig. [Source]
