70.5-point underdog stays oddly positive about beating Florida State

9/7/2012

The Savannah State University Tigers might want to change their mascot to the Underdog. Fresh from being stomped 84-0 by Oklahoma State, the Tigers face Florida State on Saturday — and the Seminoles are 70 1/2 point favorites. That's the most lopsided spread in Division I football history, not that it's going to affect the Tigers' preparations. "We're going to get on the bus to Tallahassee with the thought of winning the game," coach Steve Davenport said, presumably with a straight face. "The reality is the reality, and we'll see how we pan out." These two big L's (and let's be honest — they're almost definitely gonna lose) will pay off though: The school will earn $860,000 to be Division I's go-to punching bag. [Source]
