Save Detroit with zombie-apocalypse theme park?
7/4/2012Innovative business opportunity or insensitive stunt? Z World Detroit — a proposal to turn part of the city into a zombie-apocalypse theme park — is probably both. The brainchild of Marc Siwak, Z World Detroit would offer participants the opportunity to escape swarms of zombies in "abandoned factories, stores and homes across hundreds of derelict urban acres." Siwak says it's a chance to creatively revitalize some of the economically imperiled city's worst neighborhoods; critics say Siwak is making light of its poverty. Either way, Siwak's launched a fundraiser on Indiegogo to pay for it — but he's currently about $142,000 short of his goal.
