School somehow forgets about stocked bomb shelter
6/25/2012The Cuban missile crisis ended 50 years ago, but students at Placer High School in Auburn, Calif., just got a present-day reminder of its impact. Construction crews working on the California school's new weight room pried off several boards and discovered a fully stocked Cold War-era bomb shelter, complete with floor-to-ceiling shelves holding everything from food and water to medical supplies (including anti-diarrheal medication, which is crucial when you're sealed into a room beneath a school). "There was always a suspicion there was a bomb shelter here," a school representative said. The school is unsure what to do next, but it may surround the shelter with glass and seal it as a "time-capsule classroom."
What would you put in your bomb shelter?
