Schools say Loch Ness Monster proves Creationism
6/26/2012The Loch Ness Monster is no longer just a tourist draw. It's also a teaching tool Christian fundamentalist schools use to prove that creationism, not evolution, is the way things really happened. When the 2012-2013 school year starts for students in Louisiana, many will be attending private religious schools thanks to a state voucher program, and several of those schools use the Accelerated Christian Education curriculum, whose science textbooks assert the existence of Nessie as evidence dinosaurs and man have been living side by side, therefore sinking hoity-toity Darwinism. At least these students will hopefully be able to find Scotland on a map.
