Scientists on DNA hunt for Bigfoot5/23/2012
The myth of Bigfoot -- the mysterious, ape-like monster of the forest -- has persisted for decades. Now, scientists from two of the world's premier research institutions have banded together to conduct a DNA-centric investigation into the creature's possible existence. Researchers from Oxford University and the Lausanne Museum of Zoology have teamed up to study the "organic remains" some say are from Bigfoot -- much of it collected by Bernard Heuvelmans, a Bigfoot investigator who searched for evidence of the creature for 50 years. "It's an area that any serious academic ventures into with a deal of trepidation ... it's full of eccentric and downright misleading reports," one researcher told Reuters.
