Scientists suspect corn insecticide in mass bee deaths
3/18/2012Honeybees do more than make honey. As a species, they are responsible for the pollination and therefore survival of crops that sustain ecosystems all over the world. That's why the fact they have been dying off in droves is so alarming. Now, hopefully, we're one step closer to saving the bees, since a new study says a popular pesticide used on corn may be the culprit behind the bee deaths. Until there is definitive proof, the EPA probably won't suspend the pesticides, but we should all -- at the very least -- not show kids that awful put the paper cup over the bee, then step on it, trick this summer. Because we're just stepping on ourselves, guys.
