FBI allegedly investigates Scientology, finds nothing positive

Scientology has long been controversial. But recently, increased celebrity involvement from Tom Cruise, et al., has only intensified the public's confusion about what happens in the Sea Org (the church's group of most dedicated members). According to the Tampa Bay Times, the FBI grew curious, too. The Florida newspaper says that two FBI agents conducted a secret investigation into Scientology from 2009 until 2011 — the agency's "first known criminal investigation of Scientology in 30 years." The FBI won’t confirm, but the Tampa Bay Times' investigation into the investigation turned up plenty of unsavory info, including ex-members' accusations of human trafficking, sleep deprivation, forced labor and physical abuse.
