Pro-life congressman and his then-wife chose to have two abortions
1 mins agoA pro-life Republican congressman admitted that he and his ex-wife made a "mutual decision" to have two abortions, a court transcript shows. U.S. Rep. Scott DesJarlais of Tennessee divorced his wife in 2001, and said in court that he and his wife opted to terminate two pregnancies during their relationship. The court transcripts, uncovered by the Chattanooga Times Free Press, also reveal that during the marriage, DesJarlais had sexual relationships with at least two patients, three coworkers and a drug rep while he was chief of staff at a local medical center. The congressman has marketed himself to voters as "a consistent supporter of pro-life values." [Source]
