Apple software exec fired over his own crappy app
10/30/2012Wherever Scott Forstall is this morning, we wonder if he's asking, "Siri, can you find me a new job?" The longtime Apple iOS software executive was fired on Monday after refusing to sign a letter apologizing for the company's frequently inaccurate Maps app. When the snafu-ing software was released, Forstall wanted to "address the outcry without apologizing," but CEO Tim Cook disagreed, and it was Cook's signature on the bottom of the company's official "We're sorry" note sent to customers. Forstall, who had been with Apple for 15 years, had a reputation for being difficult and "never fit in with the culture," according to an (of course) anonymous source. [Source]
