Saints coach might go marching out after NFL voids his contract
11/4/2012The NFL didn't do Sean Payton any favors when it suspended him for the season for his role in the New Orleans Saints' Bountygate scandal, but apparently it's given him reparations. The league has declined to approve the multiyear contract extension the coach signed with the Saints last fall, essentially making him a free agent after this season — when he's likely to be one of the most sought-after coaches on the market, particularly by the desperate-to-make-a-splash Dallas Cowboys. Payton has in fact purchased a house in Dallas after his divorce earlier this year. Perhaps he'll be divorcing the Saints, too. [Source]
