Voice of Elmo leaves Sesame St. as new 'child victim' comes forward
11/20/2012And we were so close to never having to hear the words "Elmo sex scandal" again. A second accuser has stepped forward Tuesday, and voice-of-Elmo Kevin Clash has resigned from "Sesame Street." Cecil Singleton, now 24, says Clash conducted a sexual relationship with him in 2003, when Singleton was 15. This follows accusations last week from model Sheldon Stephens, who made a similar charge but recanted his accusation — and just yesterday recanted his recantation. In a lawsuit, Singleton is asking for more than $5 million. As Sesame Workshop said in a release announcing Clash's departure, "It's a sad day on Sesame Street." [Source]
