The Belgian Malinois and its handler were part of a security team assigned to Joe Biden, who was speaking at a fundraiser at the Ritz-Carlton in New Orleans. Details about the dog's accident haven't been released, but the animal somehow fell from the roof of a six-story parking garage adjacent to the hotel. A police motorcade raced the dog to a nearby veterinary hospital, but efforts to revive it were unsuccessful. [Source]
