Bolshoi Ballet artistic director might be blind after acid attack

Sergei Filin, the artistic director of Russia's famed Bolshoi Ballet, might lose his eyesight after a vicious acid attack in Moscow. A masked man confronted Filin as he walked to his apartment, shouted at him and threw acid in his face. Filin was threatened over the past several months: His tires were slashed, he received menacing phone calls, and his social media accounts were hacked. Friends and colleagues say the attack is likely connected to Filin's work; as artistic director, he has control over casting and the ability to make or break dancers’ careers.
