Serial flasher says he did it to get over fear of public nudity

If you're scared of heights, they say, go skydiving. If you're arachnophobic, keep a spider as a pet. And, if you feel uncomfortable being naked in front of other people, terrorize them by waving your disgusting genitals in their faces. That's the defense of a serial flasher working the city of Brisbane in Australia. Having been caught flashing himself 19 times in 10 years -- mainly to children -- Clifford John Candy, 30, claimed in court his filthy habit was borne of a desire to rid himself of his fear of being naked in public. The judge, not surprisingly, labeled Candy's comments "absurd". Candy was answering charges relating to an episode in which he was alleged to have exposed himself to a seven-year-old girl playing on a beach. "I was waving it about ... like a flag," Candy said.
