Woman who had 77-lb. cyst removed thought she'd just been 'overeating'

12/25/2012

New Zealand woman Sharon Watts received a nice early Christmas present – the removal of a 77-pound cyst that had developed undetected on her ovary. After Mrs. Watts recently suffered stomach pains, a scan revealed the huge mass that was removed in a four hour operation on Friday. Watt's gynecologist Albert Makary said he'd never seen anything like it and that the cyst was "almost the weight of 10 babies." The patient had thought her extra weight was merely the result of "overeating" and said that since the operation, "I can actually fit some of my clothes now which is nice." [Source]
