Olympic snowboarder shaves off trademark mane for charity

Shaun White's wavy ginger mane is almost as integral to his image as his snowboard, but the Olympic gold medalist has succumbed to the scissors and shorn his locks for charity. "I have been thinking about this one for a while, but it's for a good cause, so I wanna do it," White says in this video. The athlete's ponytail will be donated to Locks of Love, which gives hairpieces to children who've lost their own hair due to illness. Some commenters flipped for his newly trimmed look, finding it "very handsome and much more grown up." Others, not so much. "Now you look like a dorky news reporter," sniffed one. Dude, he can always grow it back.
