Shoppers get more 'chocolate chips' than they bargained for
6/21/2012
Customers of U.K. bargain chain store Poundland will surely be thrilled to learn that staff have been resealing packets of chocolates and putting them back on shelves after the packets and their contents had been gnawed and defecated on by rats. Health inspectors investigating customers' claims found urine and rat crap in several boxes at a store in Croydon, South London. And, according to reports, the rats' teeth marks were clearly visible. In court, prosecutor David McNeill also noted that, "a dead mouse was also found under one of the shelves and it was obvious the shelves had not been cleaned for some time." Guess sometimes it really is true -- you get what you pay for.
