Mystery solved: Sigourney Weaver wore SAG dress backward2/1/2013
Now we know why Sigourney Weaver's dress looked so totally weird at Sunday's Screen Actors Guild awards: The actress wore at least part of her floor-length black gown backwards. Runway images of the $3,500 Lanvin dress suggest that Weaver wore the asymmetrically hemmed skirt correctly, but she rotated the top 180 degrees so that the plunging V-neck showed off her back, not her chest. Fashion bloggers have suggested that the label's designer, Alber Elbaz, customized the gown to Weaver's taste, but critics said that "Weaver's Lanvin looked like a beautifully cut trash bag."
