Rock band demands Romney campaign stop playing its song
8/16/2012Mitt Romney shouldn't expect the members of rock band Silversun Pickups to vote for him this November. Especially not after the band sent his campaign a letter demanding they stop playing the band’s song "Panic Switch" at events. "We don't like people going behind our backs, using our music without asking, and we don't like the Romney campaign," lead singer Brian Aubert said in a statement. Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul the song was played by mistake before a North Carolina campaign stop and that it was covered under the campaign’s blanket license with record companies, but not before she added, "Anyone who attends Gov. Romney's events knows this is not a song we would have played intentionally." Ouch. [Source]
