No humdrum perfect-attendance certificate for Simba. The students at Westbrook High School in Maine instead are honoring the most conscientious cat in education by using their art-show fundraiser as a salute to his loyalty. Tina Soucy couldn't have known what she was starting when she opened the door for the friendly orange cat back in 2000 as she was moving into her classroom as a rookie math teacher. Now Simba pretty much runs the joint, showing up promptly at 7 a.m., roaming from class to class, snoozing on students' textbooks and cadging treats in the office. His owner is OK with the arrangement, even though Simba's never brought home a report card in 13 years. [Source]
