Sisters find $500 lost cash, prove good people still exist
7/9/2012Keep this story in mind when you need a reminder that not everyone in the world is a selfish jerk. Clare Fisher, 67, bought a set of napkins from a second-hand store and gifted them to her sister Jan Hansch, 71. When Jan unraveled one in her home in Belgrave, Australia, she was shocked to find $500 rolled up inside -- along with a 1993 pay slip from Target indicating the money belonged to an "M.D. Fife." Instead of pocketing the cash, the sisters put on their detective caps and eventually returned the money to Margaret Dorothy Fife, 74. "I'm so grateful for their honesty. It's a rarity these days," said Fife, who rewarded the sisters in true older lady style: with morning tea and flowers.
Would you have returned the money?
