Cops called to break up figure-skating fight (no, really)

1/21/2013

Don't let the sequins and stereotypes fool you: These figure skaters are hard-core, man! The police were called to an Ontario hotel when fists started flying faster than a well-performed triple salchow. A group of figure skaters who were in town for the national championships started brawling at the Delta Meadowvale Hotel, a fight that organizers attribute to an "intense week of skating." No arrests or real injuries were reported, although one man did get a cut on his cheek. "As with many competitions, the skaters let off some steam on the last night," a Skate Canada director said. "And it seems some of them maybe were letting off a bit too much steam." [Source]
