Skip Euro 2012 due to fan racism, ex-soccer star urges
5/29/2012The European soccer championships, set to kick off on June 8, are the second most-watched soccer tournament on the planet after the World Cup. But Sol Campbell, former captain of the English national team, thinks some fans — particularly black and Asian ones — might want to stay away from the games after he witnessed nasty video of racist and anti-Semitic violence and taunting at matches played in Euro host countries Poland and the Ukraine. UEFA, the tourney's organizer, says the sport's governing bodies in those particular countries need to work out these pesky issues on their own. Maybe being in the spotlight of Euro 2012 will hasten official reaction. Thanks for the help, UEFA.
How should UEFA help deal with racism and anti-Semitism at Euro 2012?
