$700 million skyscraper looks like a $20 pair of jeggings
9/5/2012Meant to be a "dramatic, iconic gateway to the East" that would outshine the Arc de Triomphe, China's new $700 million skyscraper in Suzhou is being compared instead to a pair of jeggings. We imagine with the right configuration of lights in the 74-story building, the pants could appear to have the fly down, or could even appear to have trendy distressed detailing on the knees and backside. Designed by U.K. firm RMJM, The Gate to the East should be completed by the end of the year, but the digital renderings of the completed structure are already getting laughed at by snarky Web surfers worldwide.
