Laughter may be the best medicine, but sleep is the best painkiller
12/2/2012Getting up early is more than just a pain in the neck — research suggests it may lead to even more actual pain. According to a new study published in the journal Sleep, scientists found that people who slept 10 hours instead of for the typical eight were able to endure pain for 25 seconds longer than those who slept less. Similar research has also noted a correlation between many chronic pain disorders and a lack of sleep, which all suggests that being tired may make everything hurt worse. So next time you reach for the bottle of aspirin, maybe you should grab a pillow instead. [Source]
